ABC Makes Decision for ‘Queens’ and ‘Promised Land’

Will the series continue to broadcast?


ABC dramas Queens and Promised Land were canceled after one season on ABC. Queens finished its season in February. The series follows four women in their 40s who come together for a chance to regain their fame and regain the air they had when they were legends of hip-hop in the 90s.

Eve originally appeared on the show as Brianna (aka Professor Sex), but left the show mid-season to go on maternity leave. He also starred as Naturi Naughton, Jill/Da Thrill, Nadine Velazquez, Valeria/Butter Pecan, Taylor Sele, Eric Jones, Pepi Sonuga, Lil Muffin and Brandy as Naomi/Xplicit Lyrics. Zahir McGhee wrote Queens and served as executive producer. Tim Story produced and directed the pilot episode. Sabrina Wind also served as an executive producer. Swizz Beatz served as executive music producer. ABC Signature provided studio service.

After originally airing on ABC, “Promised Land” was ported to Hulu after only five episodes. The first season ended in March. The series follows a Latino family vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley. John Ortiz as Joe Sandoval, Cecilia Suárez as Lettie Sandoval, Augusto Aguilera as Mateo Sandoval, Christina Ochoa as Veronica Sandoval, Mariel Molino as Carmen Sandoval, Tonatiuh as Antonio Sandoval, Andres Velez as Carlos Rincón, Katya Martíchen while she was cast as Juana S.
