Academy Announces 2023 Oscar Date

When will the Oscar Ceremony be held?

The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12, 2023, according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC on Friday. After the ceremony that took place on March 27 last year, it will be the second year in a row that the Academy Awards are held in March after many years. The 95th Academy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood in over 200 territories worldwide.

The deadline for general entry categories for the 2023 Oscars has been set for November 15. Pre-voting will begin on 12 December and shortlists will be announced on 21 December. The eligibility period will end on 31 December and nomination voting will take place. Nomination voting will take place between January 12 and January 17, 2023. Nominations will be announced on January 24, 2023, and final voting will take place from March 2 to March 7, 2023.

Hollywood is still talking about the 2022 Oscars ceremony, the most controversial to date, in light of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock badly on stage and then winning the best actor award for his role in King Richard moments later. Produced by Will Packer, the show drew backlash for its decision to pre-register eight artisanal categories prior to the ceremony and to include the “fans favourite” award voted on via Twitter. The future of these issues is also discussed.
