Malayalam actor Manikandan Achari got married to Anjali in an exceedingly simple temple wedding in Tripunithura, Kerala. He donated the cash saved for the marriage to Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Manikandan and Anjali’s families followed social-distancing rules and protocols during the marriage. that they had decided the marriage date and venue six months ago and didn’t want to postpone it because of coronavirus lockdown. So, both families agreed for a temple wedding with some important people attending.

After the marriage, Manikandan said, ‘We will overcome Covid-19. We are happy to contribute to the relief fund and that we aren’t upset that our wedding wasn’t a grand one.’
Actor Sunny Wayne took to Instagram to share their wedding photo and wished the couple. He wrote, ‘Wishing you a lifetime of affection and happiness dear Manikandan (sic).’ Manikandan met Anjali during a temple festival one-and-a-half years ago. They fell enamored and got the blessings from their families.

In an earlier interview to a Malayalam entertainment portal, Manikandan said, ‘Only close relatives and friends will attend the marriage. My bride Anjali and her relatives also supported this decision. because the wedding was fixed earlier, celebrities from the screenland were also invited. But now the case changed plenty. I believe, being a responsible citizen I’m obliged to cancel the grand function and have an easy wedding for the security of all.’
