Daphne Won’t Appear in Bridgerton Season 3

Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne Bassett in the Netflix series The Bridgertons, will not appear in the upcoming third season of the project. According to Deadline, the actress has ended her contract.

Phoebe Dynevor will be joining her on-screen husband Duke Hastings. He is played by Rege-Jean Page, who left the Bridgertons after the first season.

Dinevor spoke about her absence from the new chapter of the project in an interview with Screenrant. However, she noted that Daphne would not disappear from the series and could very well reappear in later seasons of the show.

The action of the series by Shonda Rhimes takes place in London at the beginning of the 19th century. The mysterious Lady Whistledown publishes a leaflet retelling all the gossip and scandals of high society. Basically, she follows young girls who are looking for husbands.

The third season, based on Julia Queen’s novel Where Love Rules, follows Penelope and Colin’s friendship that is about to grow into something more. However, Penelope has a hard time, because at the same time she needs to hide that she leads a double life. Recall that the project has already been renewed for a fourth season.
