the Described as “a cop drama—with a twist … a dark and fantastical project about a world in which characters inspired by Grimms’ Fairy Tales exist”, its tales are based on ‘The History of the Brothers Grimm’. ‘Grimm’, throughout its run, may not have garnered stellar ratings but it does have a loyal, core fanbase. Grimm Season 7 Release Date: Renewed or Cancelled?
‘Grimm’ season 6 premiered on NBC on January 6, 2017. After cutting down its run to 13 episodes, as compared to the previous five seasons that feature 22 episodes each, it concluded with its finale on March 31, 2017. And much to the disappointment of fans, NBC announced that the sixth season, which wrapped up with the 123rd episode, would be the final installment from the series.
According to star Reggie Lee, when asked about the show’s conclusion, “There were a lot of tears shed especially on our last filming day. All our veneers cracked. It was so hard to get a word out.” He also said that the story wraps up neatly and viewers would be happy with how the tale bids goodbye to its audiences. It offers proper closure and leaves no loose threads.
So, there you go. ‘Grimm’ season 7 stands officially canceled. But to cheer you up, here is a bit of good news. A spinoff of the fantasy drama is currently under works. It is written and executive produced by Melissa Glenn, primarily known for ‘Iron Fist‘, ‘Zoo‘ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner, EPs of the original title, returns to executive produce the spinoff and co-creators of the parent title, David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, are credited as consulting producers.
