Kourtney, in the meantime, seeks relationship advice from her mother, who simply tells her to believe in herself. She is now reluctant to trust Howie even though he insists that his feelings for her are real. Having run out of options, he lays out his thoughts in a song that ultimately wins her heart.

EJ’s father is psyched about sending him to Duke, much to his disappointment. In a conversation with Gina, he reveals that his acceptance is credited to an unfair play of nepotism which in the end coaxes him to reject the offer. In the process, he gets closer to Gina. As Nini and Ricky meet up at their childhood haunt, he spews out the truth, causing her to break up with him.
