In Treatment Season 5: Everything We Know

Developed by Rodrigo García, ‘In Treatment’ on HBO is based on the Israeli show ‘BeTipul.’ The first three seasons are set in Baltimore and follow the psychotherapist Paul Weston. He has a private practice but also seeks help from his therapist Gina. After a hiatus of almost a decade, the series returned with its fourth installment, which shifted the focus to another therapist called Dr. Brooke Taylor. Set in present-day Los Angeles, the fourth season highlights current issues, including the pandemic and the cultural and political shifts in the social landscape of the USA. The series initially premiered on January 28, 2008, on HBO.
The drama series has been praised for its well-written scripts that aptly depict the real-life experiences of professional psychotherapists. Additionally, the nuanced performances of the cast members do justice to the layered characters they portray. Over the years, the series has won numerous awards such as the Primetime Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and the Writers Guild of America Awards. So, we can see why the fans are eager to know if there will be a fifth season, and here is everything we have for you!
In Treatment Season 5 Release Date
‘In Treatment’ season 4 landed on May 23, 2021, on HBO, with the season concluding after 24 episodes on June 28, 2021. The episodes run for 22–30 minutes.
With regard to the fifth season, here is what we have gathered. Although no official announcement has been made confirming the renewal of the fifth round, there is a strong chance that the show will return on our screens. The series has an impressive history, and it has been revived after almost ten years. So it is unlikely that the current team conceived season 4 has a one-and-done plan. Moreover, it seems like the production is relatively easier since the cast members need not commit to playing their characters for long story arcs. This would probably help with the potential scheduling conflicts.
The revived version was formally confirmed in October 2020 and began filming by the end of the said year. This means that it took seven months for the production team to roll out new episodes. So, if HBO orders a new iteration of the show by Fall 2021, we can expect ‘In Treatment’ season 5 to release sometime in Spring 2022.
In Treatment Season 5 Cast: Who can be in it?
In the fourth season, Uzo Aduba portrays the central character, Dr. Brooke Taylor. Liza Colón-Zayas plays Rita, Brooke’s AA sponsor, whereas Joel Kinnaman essays the role of Brooke’s on-again-off-again boyfriend, Adam. Other actors in season 4 are Anthony Ramos (Eladio Restrepo), John Benjamin Hickey (Colin), Quintessa Swindell (Laila), and Charlayne Woodard (Rhonda). If there is a season 5, we can expect Aduba, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Kinnaman to reprise their roles. However, a new set of cast members might step in to portray new characters.
In Treatment Season 5 Plot: What can it be About?
In season 4, Brooke primarily works with three clients, Eladio, Colin, and Laila. Each of their life scenarios differs from one another, and so do the reasons why they are in therapy. Brooke does her best to help them gain insight into their lives and decide how they want to go forward. However, she has to navigate her boundaries with each of them very carefully. Rita is an old friend of Brooke’s who is instrumental in giving her a fresh perspective on her choices, considering the therapist’s personal life is far from perfect.
If there is another season of the show, we might see Brooke work with a new set of clients. We might also learn how she evolves as a therapist and as an individual who wants to have meaningful and fulfilling relationships in life.
