India reports 9,119 cases, 11K recoveries
New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, 9,119 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in India, in which 396 people have died due to the infection. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, there were a total of 10,264 discharges in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the overall recovery rate to around 98.33%, the highest since March 2020, and the total recovery data at 3,39. ,67,962. As per the government data released today, the COVID-19 active cases in India have come down to 1,09,940 (lowest in 539 days).
So far, 1,32,33,15,050 vaccination doses have been received by the States/UTs. States/UTs still have 22,72,19,901 remaining and untapped COVID-19 vaccine doses for administration. So far, the nationwide immunization campaign has delivered about 119.38 crore vaccine doses. The total death toll in the country today is 4,66,980. The first death from the COVID pandemic in India was recorded in March 2020. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 63,59,24,763 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till November 24. On Wednesday, out of 11,50,538 samples were tested.
Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Kerala has crossed 51 lakh, with 4,280 new infections being recorded on Wednesday. According to an official news release, 308 deaths were announced, taking the total death toll to 38,353.
