International Diyarbakir Short Film Festival Will Meet With Cinema Lovers in Its 2nd Year!

The International Diyarbakir Short Film Festival, the second of which will be held this year, is preparing to reunite the city of Diyarbakir with cinema professionals.

Last year, it was met with great enthusiasm and brought together the city of Diyarbakır with cinema professionals. International Diyarbakir Short Film Festivalis preparing to meet with moviegoers in its second year.

The 2nd International Diyarbakir Short Film Festival, which will be organized with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the General Directorate of Cinema, and the partnership of the Diyarbakir Governorship and Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, 2 – 5 June 2022 will meet with moviegoers. The festival, which will be held under the directorship of director and producer Serhat Gönen, set out to make up for the lack of a continuous festival in Diyarbakır. The festival, which is also supported by Yenişehir Municipality and Sur Municipality, will be held under the sponsorship of Karavil Group this year.

An award worth 40 thousand TL for short films!

Aiming to gather short filmmakers, film industry professionals and cinema lovers from Diyarbakır under one roof, the festival continues on its way by adding the ‘International’ category this year. Short film applications for the competition section of the festival started on April 10. Applications to the festival It can be done through the website until May 20.

This year’s films at the festival; It will be evaluated in three different categories: National Short Fiction, National Short Documentary and International Short Film Competition. The short films that applied to the festival and were selected for the main selection will compete for a total of 15 award statuettes and a prize of 40 thousand TL. Films competing in the short film competition and films selected for special screening will also be screened at the 2nd International Diyarbakir Short Film Festival. At the same time, within the scope of the festival; workshops, talks, exhibitions and masterclasses will also be held.

Labor Awards go to Şerif Sezer and Cezmi Baskin!

The owners of the labor awards presented on behalf of Sami Hazinses and Sezai Karakoç, which were given last year as part of the festival, were also announced. The Labor Award on behalf of the cinema artist Sami Hazinses; “Road”, “A Season in Hakkari”, “Hunting Time”, “My Father and My Son”, “Don’t Be Crazy”, “I Saw the Sun” and “Homeland”, and also “Rose Oya in My Circle”, It will be presented to the master artist Şerif Sezer, who won the love of millions with TV series such as “White Poppy”, “Karagül” and “My Name Is Melek”.

The Labor Award given on behalf of the master poet Sezai Karakoç; Rina, White Angel, I saw the sun, International, GORA, Joyful Life and Miracle and not forgotten with her acting in films such as Second Spring, We Are Together Even If We Separated, Akasya Durağı, Atiye, North Star First Love and It will be presented to the master artist Cezmi Baskin, who delights his audience with TV series such as “Judgment”.

Şerif Sezer and Cezmi Baskin will be presented their awards at the opening ceremony of the festival, which will be held on the evening of June 2.
