K-pop group Aespa sets record with first-day sales of ‘women’ album


Four-member K-pop team Aespa set a new document with the release of their “Girls” cd on July 8.
Aespa launched “Girls-The 2nd Mini Album” with 1.61 million copies in preorders and set a new document in first-day sales.
According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “Girls” cd sold 806,891 copies on the first day of launch.
This is the highest first-day sales for a K-pop woman group, edging out BLACKPINK’s “The Album,” which marketed 589,310 copies on the initial day of release on Oct. 6, 2020.
With their one-day cd sales, Aespa likewise set the record for the No. 1 one-week album sales for K-pop woman groups on Hanteo Chart, overtaking BLACKPINK’s “The Album,” which garnered 689,066 duplicates in sales in the first week of launch.
” Girls” marketed 14,834 copies on the 2nd day of launch to bring the overall two-day sales to 821,725 copies as of July 9.
In Hanteo’s yearly cd chart for 2021, Aespa’s “Savage” positioned 25th with 406,513 copies sold.
