Two more joined the renewed series
Young Rock and Grand Crew were renewed by NBC. Young Rock has been renewed for a third season. The series is based on the life of Dwayne The Rock Johnson and follows him from three different points of his childhood to adulthood. Starring Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Ana Tuisila, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Fasitua Amosa, John Tui and Matthew Willig, Johnson is also the narrator of the series.
Nahnatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang co-created the series and executive produced with Johnson, Dany Garcia, Jennifer Carreras, Hiram Garcia, and Brian Gewirtz. The series is produced by Universal Television, Seven Bucks Productions and Fierce Baby Productions. The series received more than expected response and the decision to continue was inevitable.
“Grand Crew” has been renewed for a second season. The comedy series follows a group of young professionals in Los Angeles as they navigate the ups and downs of life and love and always find time to get together at their favorite bar. Noah, a hopeless romantic who’s too eager to settle down, Nicky, an adventurous real estate agent in romance, Sherm, a humble genius playing dating odds, Anthony with a career in true love, Wyatt who’s relieved to be married and out of the dating scene, and a recently divorced and newly married man in Los Angeles. Fay, who wants to make a start, forms this group.
Just like aging wines, their friendship gets better with time. Grand Crew stars Nicole Byer, Justin Cunningham, Aaron Jennings, Echo Kellum, Grasie Mercedes, and Carl Tart. Phil Augusta Jackson created the series and worked as executive producer with Dan Goor, who was a writer and producer on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Universal Television served as the studio.
