Netflix’s critically acclaimed animated anthology series Love, Death + Robots is back for its third season, and the new trailer offers a dazzling look at what fans can expect, including executive producer David Fincher’s debut as animation director. Since its premiere in 2019, Love, Death + Robots has garnered a slew of accolades, including an impressive twelve Emmy nominations and eleven wins.
Season two raised the bar with stories and direction from creators like series producer Tim Miller (Deadpool), Simon Otto (How to Train Your Dragon) and supervisor Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2), but Season 3 will take that to a higher level. The third season of Love, Death + Robots will feature nine episodes featuring stories about rebellious shark-hunting adventures, apocalyptic zombie satires, overgrown Scottish rats, and siren songs that fail to lure a deaf knight to death.
This Season will also feature the sequel to the fan-favourite story “Three Robots,” which premiered in the first season from anthology series sci-fi writer John Scalzi. In addition to the exciting news about Fincher directing an episode, season three also marks the return of Alberto Mielgo, who won three Emmys for his 2019 episode of “The Witness.” Newcomers to the anthology series include Joe Abercrombie, Andrew Kevin Walker and Carlos Stevens.
Season three will build on wit and visual inventions that perfectly combine terror, imagination and beauty amid the chaos caused by the ancient evils and satirical apocalypses of the first two seasons. Ahead of the premiere of season three, Alamo Drafthouse is hosting free screenings across the United States to showcase highlights from the first two seasons, new footage from next season, and a question-and-answer event with David Fincher, Tim Miller and Jennifer.
