HBO has released the first teaser for the fourth season of “Westworld,” which reveals footage of the next episode of the sci-fi series. HBO planned the release of the trailer as an easter egg for fans to reveal. The teaser surfaced online to everyone on Monday evening. The teaser opens to the beat of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day,” perhaps hinting at a not-so-perfect ordeal for existentially challenged androids, perhaps ironically.
The trailer offers a glimpse into which characters Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, Aaron Paul, and Angela Sarafyan will portray in the upcoming season. There’s no dialogue in the teaser, but instead a dystopian version of New York City, a series of typically slanted, dizzying sci-fi images depicting smoke-eating mechanisms, people waltzing in the streets, and flies.
HBO describes the upcoming season as “a dark adventure about the fate of conscious life on earth.” Westworld was last seen on HBO more than two years ago and concluded its third season in May 2020. The teaser begins by announcing the premiere date for season four. Westworld will air the first episode of its eight-episode season on HBO and HBO Max on June 26.
“Westworld”, Warner Bros. It comes from Kilter Films and Bad Robot Productions, along with Television. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy created the science fiction series. The duo also produces with Alison Schapker, Denise Thé, JJ Abrams, Athena Wickham, Richard J. Lewis and Ben Stephenson. The series will probably also officially announce seasons 5 and 6.
