The Citadel series from the Russo brothers was renewed for a second season before the premiere of the first

Amazon Prime has renewed the spy thriller The Citadel for a second season even before the premiere of the first – the release of the project will take place on April 28. The first two episodes will air on the streaming service that day. In total, the first season will have six episodes, the number of episodes in the second season is still unknown.
The project will tell about Mason and Nadia, former employees of the independent spy agency Citadel, destroyed by the Manticore crime syndicate. Mason and Nadia don’t remember anything about their stay at the Citadel and live a completely different life, until one day their old colleague Bernard recruits them again. Starring Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra and Stanley Tucci.
The Citadel was originally developed as an entire franchise rather than a standalone series. It is executive produced by the Russo brothers, who have worked on several parts of The Avengers, the series Community and Arrested Development . In the future, the brothers will release several Citadel spin-offs that will be filmed in different countries in local languages. The total budget of the project is about $200 million.
