The Last of Us: Series is renewed for season 2!

The series based on the universe of The Last of Us won plaudits from audiences upon its debut and has been garnering surprisingly high viewership numbers ever since. With this resounding success, HBO announced, this Friday (27), that the series will return for a second season . The confirmation was made through the official profile of Naughty Dog on Twitter, but the studio did not disclose the date for the return of production – although it is assumed that it will happen in 2024.
“I am humbled, honored and frankly impressed that so many people have tuned in and connected with our retelling of Joel and Ellie’s journey. The collaboration with Craig Mazin, our incredible cast and crew, and HBO exceeded my already high expectations.” said game director and show executive producer Neil Druckmann. “Now we are absolutely delighted to be able to do it again with season two! On behalf of everyone at Naughty Dog and PlayStation, thank you!”
There is still no word on what will be adapted in this second season, but one theory is that it will follow the events of Part II of The Last of Us. As such, fans have already deduced who might play Abby in the new year.
