50. Joy

Joy

Starting our massive list of fabulous Yaoi manga series, we have a story about manga series.

Yup, this story is about a Manga author and his relationship with his assistant. Things are going to change tracks very soon.

Joy is a 2 volume manga series that started back in 2016. It is written and illustrated by Etsuko.

The series focuses on 2 characters. One is a shoujo manga artist, Go Okazaki and the second is his assistant, Yusuke.

Now Okazaki wants to write a fabulous Shojo manga that will be a great read for her female readers.

And to support his mission, he gets a request for a Boys’ Love manga. Now, this is going to be a tricky task but luckily Okazaki, right before he received the orders, discovered that his assistant is homosexual.

Therefore, to make the series as realistic as possible, Okazaki will play ‘pretend’ with his assistant as his boyfriend.

However, this game of pretending might fade away as time goes on. We are starting off very well here.

With a manga such as Joy, you would also understand how troublesome it is for manga authors to provide quality content to their readers.

49. Jackass!

Jackass!

The limits of Yaoi narratives can be pretty insane if you think about it. And you don’t even need to think about it if you try and take a look at the manga we are talking about next.

This is Jackass. Jackass is a single-volume manga series that started back in 2015. It is written and illustrated by Beriko Scarlet.

The series talks about the life of two best friends. Those being Masayuki Shinoda and Keisuke Hara.

Now Keisuke is a man who lost his family and only has his sister under the tag of one.

Therefore, he strives to make sure that they have a happy life and so, Keisuke lives his life in a struggling way.

One day, when her sister accidentally wore his pants instead of her own, Keisuke got very annoyed by it.

However, it later turns out that she left her pantyhose in her own pants and now Keisuke is wearing them in PE.

Shinoda comes for the rescue asap and takes him to the infirmary. However, when they are both there alone, things will get a little out of hand.

Especially when you realize that Keisuke is looking quite hot in those Pantyhose. Well, well.

That’s quite a sensitive narrative, right? I mean being able to witness the unthinkable has an appeal of its own.

And if you wish to look at that appeal then look no further than Jackass.

Now things are going to go, a lot different between Fumi and Shunpei. As you can see, the series doesn’t have any extravagant narrative that will blow your mind or anything.

Nope, it’s just a simple and sweet Yaoi premise that seems to be attracting quite some audience.

And both of these dance forms have their own kings. Shinya Suzuki and Shinya Sugiki respectively.

Although these competitors never make eye contact, to win the contest, they ask for each other’s help.

What happens after that is a graceful experience. The manga here is yet another simple story with the essence of competition added to it.

Makes it a lot more worthwhile.

44. Rules

Rules

From the surface, this might seem like a series about high school boys who get engaged with each other because of a mishap.

One of them broke a rule and the other one tried to teach him, or something along those lines seems like the plot for this series.

However, it’s a lot more interesting than that. Rules is a 3 volume manga series that started back in 2009.

It is written and illustrated by Miyamoto Kano. The story talks about Konoe who has been in love with Atori, however, couldn’t get the courage to confess.

So when he wasn’t able to convey his gay feelings, he ends up sleeping with Hikaru from the sleazy gay district.

Later on, they both start playing lovers for a while but Konoe just can’t overlook his love for Atori.

Moreover, the feelings of Hikaru and Atori are yet to be known. This manga dives more into human drama and gay relationships.

The three individuals involved are going to be the core of the story and their character isn’t something you would wanna miss.

43. Mujihi na Karada

Mujihi na Karada

For fans of Sakuraga Mei, I have good news. The next manga we will be dealing with is by this man I mentioned before.

It is written and illustrated by Sakuraga Mei. The series is a continuation of Mujhi No Anata, a story that dives into the deep and complex relationships held by two characters.

Those characters are Nanao Shirahane and Kuon Aikawa who have been in a bond that is much complex to describe in words.

Since this is the combination, if you wish to understand the series then read Mujihi Na Anata first.

And why should you read that? Well, you will find that soon enough. Just keep reading this article.

42. Yuuutsu na Asa

Yuuutsu na Asa

The next manga we are going to talk about deals with family hierarchy and relationships developed because of them.

However, the narrative isn’t nearly as simple as you might be expecting it to be.

Yuutsu Na Asa is an 8 volume manga series that started back in 2007. It is written and illustrated by Hidaka Shoko.

The series talks about Akihito Kuze who has become the legal leader of the Kuze family right at the age of 10 because of his father’s death.

However, since the 10-year-old wouldn’t be able to make it as the leader, Katsuragi, a smart and handsome servant takes him under as his student.

Katsuragi is respected by many because of his overall charm but Akihito feels a bit different about him than the others.

And this difference makes him possessive towards Katsuragi to a new degree. How will this servant master relationship go?

As said earlier, the manga deals with a family hierarchy with a twist of its own.

This not only makes it unique but also interesting and all fangirls would love to read such Yaoi stories, right?

That someone is an unknown person who caused Nanao to sweat all night. Who is this being and why is he here?

The relationship between Nanao and Kuon is going to get very complex from here on out.

This manga is the beginning of the story of our main characters. Read this first and then read its sequel.

Once you follow these instructions, your Yaoi experience will be amazing.

40. Konya mo Nemurenai

Things are going to get out of hand very quickly. This manga is more focused on the lifestyle of our main character and the turn of events that take place.

If you wish to know what happened, there’s no better way to find it out other than reading it.

39. Himegoto Asobi

Himegoto Asobi

It’s been a while since we have seen some accidental meeting stories on this list.

And I guess we can bring that troupe back by talking about Himegoto Asobi. By the way, the English title for this series is Hide and Seek.

Quite interesting right? Himegoto Asobi is a 3 volume manga series that started back in 2011.

The manga is written and illustrated by Sakuragi Yaya. The story focuses on Shuuji Tanihara who is a single father bored with his monotonous life.

He doesn’t have any sort of excitement marked in his schedule and things seem to go stale.

All he cares about is his daughter and his shop. However, a turn of events takes place when a gay doctor named Takafumi Saji makes his way to his shop.

Now Shuuji has got one opportunity to relax and have fun for once. He asks the doctor to seduce him just for once.

However, this ‘Just For Fun’ activity soon takes some unreal directions. Well, I can’t help but recommend this series to all of you readers out there.

The humor and drama are so good that you might end up binge-watching this manga.

38. Hidoku Shinaide

Hidoku Shinaide

The next manga on our list is another school-comedy series with Yaoi elements. However, what makes this manga much more special than the other entries, is the presence of short stories.

It would meet your requirements.

37. Hana no Miyako de

Hana no Miyako de

Just like our previous entry, Hana no Miyako de is a sort of collection of short stories.

However, these stories are a lot lesser in terms of numbers and content. Still, their quality is a lot higher than you would expect.

Hana no Miyako de is a single-volume manga series that started back in 2012. It is written and illustrated by Takarai Rihito.

The manga involves two different situations with Yaoi present within them. The first series talks about Motoharu Tsujimura and Akira Hazumi who have been friends since childhood.

However, when a rejection amongst them takes place, the one who rejected their relationship develops feelings for the other one.

The second story on the other hand talks about Youichi Arikawa and Shouta Misaki who get to know each other because of agriculture research.

They start living together and as they grow, things start to take new directions within them.

This is a very sophisticated gist of what actually happens in the series. If you want to experience the actual story then I recommend nothing more than reading this.

It would be great.

36. Conveni-Kun.

Conveni-Kun.

The next manga on our list is a read that would be relatable to quite a few readers out there.

They develop a bond quite different from what we could have imagined. However, when things start to get on track, his past haunts him back.

Ok, don’t mind the NEET joke in the first paragraph of this entry. This series would be relatable to many of you on other levels.

What are those levels? Why not read this and find out./

35. Little Butterfly

Little Butterfly

The title for this manga might seem like a fairy tale series. But beware the tale this manga tells us contains no fairies.

Therefore, when Kojima learns about these problems, he starts to feel sympathetic and meets him more frequently.

Soon this friendship turns into something much more, most of us would be expecting. Confessions and conversations are bound to appear in this love story as things get more and more interesting.

Little Butterfly might have a silly title but is worth all the time you have.

The premise is quite basic but still heart-touching.

34. Kamisama no Uroko

Kamisama no Uroko

Well well. Looks like we have a mystery-based series in front of our eyes. And to be honest, I am not that surprised either.

Yaoi narratives always have other concepts added to them. And this time, it’s about a teacher.

Kamisama No Uroko is a currently publishing manga that started back in 2016. It is written and illustrated by Hinohara Meguru.

The series tells us about the life of a teacher who has been fed up with his current state.

He is always remarked as ‘Sensei’ but now he wants it no more so he moved to a new location for a bit of peace of mind.

However, at this new place where none should be known, someone stands before the teacher and this encounter is going to change the Teacher’s future.

This manga had a great narrative that should be explored by reading it instead of the synopsis.

So what are you waiting for? Just go ahead and read it ASAP. It might turn out to be your next favorite.

33. Itoshi no Nekokke

Itoshi no Nekokke

32. Super Lovers

Super Lovers

Upon first reading, the title, both of us have the same impression of this manga.

The impression is that it’s a simple Yaoi romance. And the manga doesn’t strive off from its innocence in the title and is indeed a simple yaoi series.

However, only the concept is simple, the execution is unreal. Super Lovers is a currently publishing manga series that started back in 2009.

It is written and illustrated by Abe Miyuki. The story talks about Haru and Ren who have become brothers recently after Haru’s mother adopted Ren.

Now both of these guys have their own thoughts on situations and on this one, Haru wishes to do the best for the family and ‘Civilise’ Ren.

However, this isn’t going to be any easier because of how new Ren is to the family.

Still, they both manage to get along well during the summer break. However, is this attachment close enough to call them a family?

The core idea of this manga series is simplicity with fantastic execution. Just pure Yaoi stuff with a pinch of drama added.

No wonder it’s so good.

31. Love Mode

Love Mode

Well well. The next manga that we are dealing with is a little bit older than you might expect.

Considered to be one of the best Yaoi manga of its year, we have Love mode.

The manga consists of two different stories. One deals with an accident between Sakashita Izumi and Takamiya Katsura that leads to both of them ending up dating together.

However, Izumi is a bit of a homophobe so his fear stands as a hurdle.

Will he be able to overcome what makes him weak? The other story is about a man who isn’t gay but is heartbroken because his girlfriend dumped him.

During his dispute with his girlfriend, they ended up hurting a homeless, familyless, and money-less boy.

The man feels sorry for the boy and takes him under. What happens next would be heartwarming.

This manga is filled with heartbreaks, drama, romance, commitments, and other amazing features and tropes.

The way it deals with them is fantastic and to a lot of extents, the selling point of this old manga.

However, the clients of Kon have been experiencing something that Raizou doesn’t know about. What is that?

We got more handsome men doing their Yaoi and having a great time. Blessing for all the fans out there.

The story focuses on a boy who goes by the name of J. Now this teenager doesn’t seem to have anything extravagant except two things.

First up is his past which seems to be the most messed up aspect of his life.

And secondly are his looks. So what special in his look you may ask? Well, nothing unreal other than the fact that this guy looks just like Marilyn Monroe.

As I said, this manga pushes our main character with the resemblance of a real individual.

However, this strength became insufficient when a young co-worker named Tamaki showed up. Things are not looking good for them especially amongst their thinking and ideology.

Is it the end of this beautiful couple? I hope that you can get the vibe of this manga.

It isn’t about ‘making up’. It’s about breaking up and that breaking up would be horrible to watch.

It is written and illustrated by Natsume Isaku. The series talks about the life of Onoe, a reporter who has been transferred to be next to Kaburagi, a photographer who does all on his own.

You see, both of them have different ways to deal with their subject matter. So there’s nothing similar in-between them.

However, what does stand true is the fact that as they spend more time together, these north and south beings start caring for each other.

As I said, it might seem like a mind-bending series from its title but it isn’t.

The word Paradox for this series stands for the contrasting nature of the main cast.

Now you feel interested, don’t you?

18. Koisuru Boukun

Koisuru Boukun

Even though we just saw a contrasting relationship between the main cast, a similar sort of relationship can be seen in the cast of this manga.
