The first trailer from the series is on the air!
Netflix gave its first taste of the upcoming vampire-lesbian love story First Kill. The broadcaster has released a trailer for the new young adult drama, which will begin on June 10. Based on horror writer VE Schwab’s short story “Vampires Never Get Old: Tales With Fresh Bite” originally published in the 2020 anthology, the series stars Imani Lewis and Sarah Catherine Hook as Calliope and Juliette.
The cute duo, who met in high school, are head over heels in love with each other. However, their relationship quickly becomes complicated when they discover their secret identities: Calliope is the daughter of a long family of vampire hunters, while Juliette is a child born to a “heritage” vampire family. To make matters worse, both of their families are preparing them for their “first kill,” an important rite of passage for vampire and hunter.
The trailer shows the two dating and developing a relationship, right down to their parents’ disapproval. As the two grow closer, the battle between the two factions speeds up, and the trailer features action between the two factions, as well as other horror beasts like werewolves and demons. Lewis explains in the trailer: “We’ve run into everyone, monster and human, trying to come between us.”
Alongside Lewis and Hook, First Kill also features Elizabeth Mitchell, Will Swenson, Aubion Wise, Jason Robert Moore, Gracie Dzienny, Dylan McNamara, Dominic Goodman, Phillip Mullings Jr., MK xyz, Jonas Dylan Allen, and Roberto Mendez. taking. Felicia D. Henderson leads the writing team, which includes Schwab. Both executive producers work for Belletrist Productions with Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss. First Kill will consist of eight 1-hour episodes.
