Co-directed by Alex Parkinson and Richard de Costa, the 2019 documentary “Last Breath” was about a diver who is trapped at the bottom of the North Sea with only five minutes of oxygen and will die if he is not rescued within 35 minutes.
Mitchell LaFortune wrote the screenplay for “Last Breath”, the fictional movie of the same name inspired by the same story. The film will be directed by Alex Parkinson, who also directed the documentary. Simu Liu, Woody Harrelson and Djimon Hounsou will star in the movie.
Simu Liu, star of Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, has also been cast in the star-studded movie “Barbie” directed by Greta Gerwig. Most recently, he starred in the movie “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” Woody Harrelsonis preparing to appear before the audience with its new movie “Triangle of Sadness”, which will compete in Cannes. Djimon Hounsou is currently filming Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated sci-fi action movie “Rebel Moon.”
Paul Brooks, David Brooks, Stewart le Maréchal, Al Morrow, Anna Mohr-Pietsch and Jeremy Plager are producing the project, which will be released on the film market in Cannes.
